This compact, lightweight and all-purpose lens enables professional users to travel light while being able to capture diverse scenes and subjects flexibility in high-quality images with excellent sharpness and details.

The lens uses 1 large-diameter Glass-molded (GMo) double-surface aspherical lens element and 3 Glass-molded (GMo) aspherical lens elements to significantly reduce various types of lens aberrations throughout the zoom range, including image distortion, curvature of field and astigmatism, while also improving the peripheral brightness to achieve high-quality images with high levels of sharpness and detail across the frame. Furthermore, the incorporation of ASC (Air Sphere Coating) which offers excellent anti-reflection performance particularly with respect to incident light that enters lens vertically can guarantee significant suppression of ghosting and flare at a level not possible with traditional coating. The bundled petal-type Lens Hood EW-83M can be used to further reduce flare during shooting.

Advanced 4-Stop1 Image Stabilizer with Fast and Accurate AF for Responsive Performance and Professional Operability
EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM features an optical Image Stabilizer that offers shake compensation up to 4-stop1 shutter speed and can automatically detect normal shooting and panning for optimized compensation. This helps ensure high-quality photos and movies with exceptional clarity in many different scenarios, such as handheld shooting at night or tele-end, indoor shooting without flash, as well as the use of slow shutter speed in dim environment.

In addition, the lens adopts an inner focusing design with ring-type USM that supports low-speed driving to provide high-speed, silent and smooth AF during photo and video shooting, facilitating the capture of sharp subjects with responsive shooting. It also features a 10-blade circular aperture for the first time among EF Lens to produce beautiful out-of-focus effect for stunning portrait and movie results. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m and 0.24x maximum magnification (at 105mm), the lens realizes greater flexibility to capture small subjects in close range with intricate details revealed in exceptional clarity.

Improved Lens Durability and Reliability for Easy Shooting in Diverse Scenes and Outdoor Environment
To cope with the demands of professional users, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM features an improved lens structure that brings higher zoom durability, shock and vibration resistance to the lens barrel. A new zoom ring lock is also added to lock the zoom position at 24mm wide end to prevent damage to the lens due to accidental extension. In addition, a fluorine coating is applied to the foremost and rearmost lens surfaces to minimize the amount of dust, dirt and fingerprints adhering to the lens, making cleaning easier for superior image quality. The lens also features dust and water resistance design2 to enable shooting even under adverse weather conditions.
