32.5MP Full Frame CMOS Sensor
The EOS R6 Mark III is equipped with Canon's newly developed 32.5MP Full Frame CMOS Sensor, which supports high-speed image processing with a High Speed DIGIC X digital image processor to deliver high-quality images.
The standard ISO range for EOS R6 Mark III is 100 - 64000 and is expandable to ISO 102400 to capture clear, low-noise images even in low light environments.
The increased resolution of EOS R6 Mark III makes it ideal for portrait and landscape photography. Moreover, images maintain high resolution even when cropped, making it useful in settings with faraway subjects such as sports and wildlife.

40 FPS High Speed Shooting
Even with the increased pixel count from approx. 24.2M to approx. 32.5M, high-speed drive equivalent to the EOS R6 Mark II is achieved. EOS R6 Mark III supports high speed continuous shooting up to approx. 40FPS1 with AF / AE using Electronic Shutter2, while the mechanical shutter / electronic first curtain shutter shoot continuously up to 12 FPS6.
Electronic shutter is useful for shooting wildlife and in theaters, concert halls, golf tournaments, and other situations where shutter noise is unwanted7.

Pre-continuous shooting
EOS R6 Mark III newly supports the Pre-continuous shooting function3 , which lets users capture continuous still photos from the previous 20 shots immediately before fully-pressing the shutter button. This provides peace of mind with less risk of failed shots when shooting difficult subjects that photographers in the past had to rely on their intuition and experience to capture. Users can choose from RAW/C-RAW/JPEG/HEIF recording formats. This feature can also be registered as a customized button to call it up only when needed.

Boost in Maximum Burst
EOS R6 Mark III enables a higher number of continuous shots with high-speed drive performance thanks to enhanced buffer. Maximum burst up to approx. 330 JPEGs or approx. 150 RAW8 is possible during 40FPS2 High-speed continuous shooting+. EOS R6 Mark III offers higher pixel count and longer continuous shooting time, letting users capture moments without fail.
In-Body Image Stabilizer with 8.5-stop shake compensation
EOS R6 Mark III features improved 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization which provides up to 8.5-stop shake compensation at center and 7.5-stop shake compensation at peripheral9. Improvements in the camera’s algorithm make it possible to suppress even the subtle blurs that can occur at fast shutter speeds (around 1/focal length). This lets users capture detailed still photos that fully utilize the lens’s high resolution, even with scenes like indoor portraits.
Peripherical coordinated control is also supported with compatible lens.

Creative Imaging Functions
Special Scene Mode: Smooth Skin
The Smooth Skin Special Scene Mode, a first for the EOS R series Full Frame mirrorless camera, uses a new Smooth Skin processing algorithm.

HDR Mode [Moving Subjects]
In addition to the conventional HDR PQ (Single shot) and HDR mode [Dynamic range] priority (3 shots composite), EOS R6 Mark III also includes [Moving Subjects]10 option in HDR Mode. People, animals, and vehicles, which were difficult to shoot because the subject moved between frames while shooting three shots, can be captured while a wide range of gradations is expressed through a single shot, even in scenes with a wide dynamic range and a large difference in brightness.
HDR Mode: [Moving Subjects] shooting
High Precision AF Tracking
EOS R6 Mark III features the renowned Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, providing up to 100% AF coverage area11 with 1,053 frame zones. Enhanced algorithm improves AF stability over the EOS R6 Mark II for people and animal.

“Grabs” subject quickly and easily
If AF is started when the subject is close, the camera appropriately detects the subject and focus position as if it were “grabbing” onto the subject. Also, tracking is enabled from various AF area settings (1-point, spot, flexible zone, etc.).

Continues “grabbing” and following subject even if it moves
The EOS R6 Mark III can continue tracking so that the AF keeps working even if there is camera shake or subject movement within the screen. In sports, the camera can follow the original subject even when different subjects cross.

More stable tracking performance
Improved AF tracking performance even subject change posture or brightness change by applying deep learning technology to extract subject features during subject tracking, which applies to animals, vehicles and any other subjects selected by user.
Advanced Subject Recognition

8 Maximum burst as measured under conditions conforming to Canon testing standards (One-shot AF, High-speed continuous shooting+, ISO 100, Picture Style: Standard, 325GB CFexpress card, and room temperature: 23°C).
9 Based on the CIPA 2024 standard. Yaw/pitch/roll correction performance when using electronic shutter and RF24-105mm F2.8L IS USM Z (focal length: 105mm).
10 The lowest sensitivity is ISO 800. Shooting in RAW is not available. Mechanical shutter cannot be selected. When Electronic shutter is set, distortion in the subject may be noticeable due to rolling shutter distortion.
11 Only when a lens compatible with the focusing area of 90% x 100% (horizontal x vertical) is attached to the camera while the Whole Area AF is active or the subject is detected by the setting other than Whole Area AF. Depending on the conditions of the scene or the subject, this setting may not respond as intended. For details on compatible lenses, please refer to Canon Website.
12 Effectiveness varies depending on the subject. In some cases, dogs, cats, horses or birds may not be detected, while some animals other than dogs, cats, horses or birds may be detected.
13 The vehicle detection may not function for some subjects. Or, subjects, which are not automobile, motorcycle, train, airplane or helicopter, may be detected as vehicles. Spot detection may not work properly depending on the subject. The camera may also operate spot-detecting areas that are neither a driver nor rider helmet, as well as neither a train driver cab nor an aircraft cockpit.
14 Compatible lenses: RF lenses with Electronic full-time MF, RF lenses compatible with electronic manual focusing (only when Movie servo AF is paused; excluding RF5.2mm F2.8 L DUAL FISHEYE).
15 Subject selection and tracking of selected subject may not be possible if the subject has no difference in depth, is not in focus on the screen, or is moving.
