EOS R7, the flagship APS-C EOS R camera, is equipped with a high speed 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC X Image processor to realize high speed continuous shooting of 30 FPS1 (electronic shutter2) / 15FPS3 (Mechanical shutter) with high image quality. EOS R7 adopts a newly developed high-speed 32.5MP APS-C size CMOS Sensor from Canon. Combining with a high-speed DIGIC X digital image processor, the new flagship camera allows fast image processing and excellent image quality.
Supporting a standard ISO range of 100 to 32000 and expandable to ISO 51200, EOS R7 allows users to capture clear images with less noise in low light conditions.
30 FPS High Speed Shooting
EOS R7’s electronic shutter2 supports up to 30FPS1 high-speed continuous shooting with Auto Focus / Auto Exposure Tracking, while its mechanical shutter captures at rates up to 15FPS3. This makes EOS R7 highly capable for capturing high speed subjects.
RAW Burst Mode
When enabling the non-cropped “RAW Burst Mode”4 with “Pre-Shooting”, EOS R7 will record images from up to 0.5 seconds before the shutter release is pressed, allowing you to capture the unanticipated moment.
In-Body Image Stabilizer with 8-stop shake compensation4
EOS R7’s In-body Image Stabilizer offers up to 8-stop shake compensation4. Featuring 5-axis stabilization for photo and video shooting, the camera achieves even more effective stabilization when coordinating with RF Lenses’ Optical Image stabilizers.
The new “Auto Level” feature utilizes the In-Body Image Stabilization to automatically correct the level from subtly tilted camera during photo and video shooting.
Other Features
Panorama Shot
For the first time in an EOS camera, the R7 incorporates the Panorama Shot (SCN mode) feature with up to 200 photos being taken and merged at a time to form a high-resolution and high-quality panorama shot.
Focus Bracketing & Depth Composition
With EOS R7’s Focus Bracketing feature, users can shoot up to 999 frames and capture different focus points within a scene. These frames will be automatically stacked with the “Depth Compositing” function in-camera, to generate an image with clear focus across a deep depth of field.
EOS R7 adopts the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, providing up to 100％ AF coverage area9 with 651 frame zones.
Inheriting EOS R3, EOS R7 features EOS iTR AF X7 with AF algorithm developed using Deep Learning technology for high-performance Subject Recognition and AF tracking of people, animals5 and vehicles.6 “Spot detection” is also included in vehicle detection for tracking the driver's helmet.
People Detection
In addition to head, face and eyes detection, body detection algorithm is available to detect people for situations where large movements block or hide the face or the head.
Animal Detection5
Animal detection5 now can track the animal's body, face, and eyes steadily. Small subjects even in a far away distance still can be recognized and tracked.
Vehicle Detection6
Vehicle Detection capable of overall and spot detection for motorsports6 (automobiles and motorcycles). With “Spot Detection” setting, even driver’s helmet can be detected.
Advanced Subject Tracking
For flexible AF operability, subject tracking is now possible for all the 8 “AF Area” modes including 1-point AF and Flexible Zone AF.
During shooting, AF Tracking system allows simply “grabbing” the parts of a subject to be tracked using the 1-point AF or zone AF, the camera will then determine the optimum tracking position and perform subject detection and tracking across the entire AF Area.
7K oversampling non-cropped 4K UHD 30P
EOS R7 records high-quality non-cropped 4K UHD 30P movies (4K Fine) oversampled from rich 7K RGB data for higher image quality, less moiré, minimal noise and color distortion.
In addition, EOS R7 also records non-cropped 4K UHD 60P movies and cropped 4K UHD movies when extra reach is needed.
For users who desire to capture slow motion movies, the camera also able to do that with the support of recording non-cropped FHD 120P High Frame Rate movies.
Canon Log 3
Featuring Canon Log 3 from Cinema EOS for the first time in APS-C EOS, EOS R7 films movies with a wider dynamic range and offers higher flexibility for post-production. 10-bit HDR PQ (Rec. ITU-R BT.2100(PQ)) H.265 movies are also supported.
Internal microphone with noise cancelling
In EOS R7, the internal stereo microphone is built-in with noise cancelling feature for achieving better sound recording quality. The noise reduction effect can be monitored via headphone terminal output.

1.15x magnification OLD EVF
EOS R7 features a high precision 0.39-inch 2.36M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with up to 120FPS display frame rate developed by Canon. Its 1.15x magnification offers shooting experience similar to Full Frame camera.
OVF simulation view assist is provided to reproduce the view of an SLR optical viewfinder by displaying more natural highlights and dark gradations with HDR technology.
EOS R7 also equipped with a high definition 3.0-inch 1.62M-dot side-opening Vari-angle Clear View II LCD Touch Monitor.
Convience control
The newly designed “Quick Control Dial” which integrated with “Multi-Controller” for more convenient control.
Focus Mode Switch
A new “Focus Mode Switch” for quick switching of focus mode on RF/RF-S Lens.11 has been added to the front of EOS R7 for easy access.

EOS R7 supports dual SD/SDHC/SDXC card (UHS-II) card slot with a variety of recording options for users to choose from based on their needs.

EOS R7’s built-in 802.11b/g/n (2.4Ghz) Wi-Fi ,which supports WPA3-Personal authentications, supports wireless network data transfer (e.g. Camera Connect App, EOS Utility). The built-in Bluetooth® low energy technology also allows fast and ease connection with smart devices.

Dust and water resistance7
EOS R7 adopts a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis. The camera body weights 530g only (612g with battery and memory card).
Nevertheless, the camera’s dust and water resistance7 design ensures reliable operation in extreme conditions.
