The Extender RF2x is a dedicated accessory for RF super telephoto lenses, users of these compatible super telephoto lenses can extend the focal length of the master lens by 2x swiftly. Taking the advantage of the high image quality of the master lenses, images of uncompromised quality can be delivered even with Extender RF2x installed.

Excellent Optical Design

The Extender RF2x achieves both high image quality and a smaller size with an 9 elements in 5 groups optical design that utilizes the large diameter mount and short back focus of the RF mount. By adopting the latest high-refraction, low-dispersion glass, curvature of field and chromatic aberration of magnification are suppressed for the highest possible image quality. It also features an optimized lens coating and three-cemented lenses to reduce ghosting. This makes it possible to take advantage of the high image quality of the master RF super telephoto lens.

Three cemented Lenses

The three cemented lens in the Extender RF2x reduces the air contact surface as much as possible, thus effectively reduce ghosting that tends to occur with extenders.

Slim Design

Thanks to the RF mount, Extender RF2x can now use a slim design that reduces the length of the extender to 39.3mm after mounting to master lens.

High Precision AF

The Extender RF2x has built-in microprocessor for lens communication, high precision AF¹ can be achieved with Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) in EOS R series camera.
