PowerShot G7 X Mark III
The PowerShot G7 X Mark III is a 4K digital compact camera dedicated to Social Media content creations. While equipped with a large 1-inch stacked CMOS image sensor, it also has a built-in high-quality stereo microphone and supports 3.5 mm microphone input to record better audio for VLOG videos. With the 3-inch touch LCD monitor it allows users to select AF point, menu setting, and browse photos with touch operation. Videos shot in vertical orientation can also be played back on the phone vertically. It also supports direct backup of images to image.canon Cloud Storage via Wi-Fi. The live streaming service of this product supports live streaming on YouTube only. To use the live streaming service, registration on image.canon is needed in advance together with the latest PowerShot G7 X Mark III firmware. In accordance with YouTube's “Restrictions on live streaming" on mobile devices, users must have a minimum of 1,000 channel subscribers in order to live stream from a mobile device. This restriction also applies to the YouTube live-streaming service available via the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III. Starting from September 2020, YouTube has made changes on their official policy, PowerShot G7 X Mark III users please choose “Event” for Type of Streaming when carrying out streaming function. Please note that “Stream Now” function is no longer available. 3 Rotate information will be added to the movie and this function may be limited depending on the application specifications on the device. Vertical orientation playback is not possible on the camera.
4 Camera Connect must be installed. Establishing pairing beforehand between the camera and smartphone is required. Both camera and smartphone have to be within a certain distance. For Android, Android 5.0 (or later) and Bluetooth 4.0 (or later) are required. For iOS, Bluetooth 4.0 (or later) is required. In remote shooting and Image viewing mode, connection will be switched from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi connection. While Wi-Fi connection is established, GPS data cannot be renewed.
5 With One Shot AF, AF and AE are locked after the first shot and electronic shutter will be used. Maximum of approximately 70 frames. Max. 20 FPS in high-speed continuous shooting mode and max. 8.3 FPS continuous shooting speed with SERVO AF.
New Firmware version 1.3.0 for optimizing VLOG performance!
PowerShot G7 X Mark III provides firmware update to version 1.3.0, which introduces the following new experiences to users:
- [Video Blog Recording Mode] is added to the [Movie Mode] function which optimize AF/AE performance to change focus smoothly.
- Adds support for [Aspect marker] to the [Shooting information display].
- [Recording emphasis] is added to the [Shooting information display setting] to emphasize display during video recording.
- Adds level display during [Face + Tracking priority AF]¹ to help users take video with less tilting.
- [Zebra Setting]² is added to help users confirm exposure with clear visualization of overexposed areas.
