RF1200mm F8 L IS USM inherits the superior optical design of RF600mm F4 L IS USM, with an optimized magnification optics added to the rear to achieve a longer focal length and a drastic size reduction comparing to the conventional design. Fluorite Lens
2 fluorite lens elements and 1 Super UD lens elements minimize chromatic aberration and achieve high resolution and contrast across the entire frame of the images. The glass material of the first lens element also effectively suppresses chromatic aberrations.
UD Lens
1 UD lens element has been placed in the front of magnification optics at the rear section to provide excellent chromatic aberration due to magnification, bringing superior image quality comparing to existing lens with an extender installed.
ASC Air Sphere Coating
ASC (Air Sphere Coating) anti-reflection coating technology is incorporated to reduce flare and ghosting and improves image clarity and contrast when shooting into backlight.
