Ground & GMo Aspherical Lens

High Speed Auto Focus
RF50mm F1.2 L USM features a ring-type USM (Ultrasonic Motor) and front lens focusing for fast and accurate autofocus. The ring-type USM also supports Full-time Manual Focus and the smooth “Movie Servo AF” when recording movie with EOS R Series’ Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology.
In addition, the lens achieves a minimum focusing distance of 0.4m and 0.19x maximum magnifications, enabling users to get closer to the subject and create impressive close-up shots and stunning background blurred effects with its large aperture.

Control Ring
Incorporates the RF lens control ring to adjust assigned camera settings such as ISO speed, shutter speed or aperture value directly from the lens.
The clicking sensation and sound of the control ring can be removed for silent control during photo shooting or video recording. This service is available at Canon Care Center (chargeable service).
Dust and Water Resistant Design2

Fluorine Coating
Fluorine coating is added to the foremost and rearmost lens surfaces to repel dust particles and water droplets. It also makes smears and fingerprints easy to remove.
