Featuring Image Stabilizer system utilizing Canon proprietary Vari-Angle Prism (VAP), the 12x36 IS III binoculars reduces handshake, steadying the subject and minimizing eye-strain so that you won’t miss a single action when watching a sport events. The image stabilizer also provides greater viewing comfort for use over long period of time and a high level of mobility as tripod is not needed.

A new high-performance microcomputer as found in latest EF lenses is added to take image stabilization performance to the next level. The upgraded IS technology with improved algorithm brings expanded frequency bands correction for improved correction of minute, fast and slow image shake. It also shortens the time required to activate the IS, as well as providing smoother panning support for easy tracking of birds in flight.

In addition to improving the IS performance, the use of the latest power supply circuitry realizes significant reduction of power consumption over previous models^1. The design results in a more energy efficient operation where batteries now have a continuous usage time that is approximately two times longer than previous models^1. At temperatures of 25°C both models provide up to nine hours of continuous stabilization on a pair of AA-size alkaline batteries. Users also have the flexibility to use rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for more convenience.
