Extender EF 2x III can double a lens' focal length#, extending the focal range flexibly for professional photographers. Its 9 elements in 5 groups optical design, when used with the new-generation large-aperture telephoto and super telephoto L lenses†, can vastly minimize chromatic aberration and color blurring associated with the increase of focal length. It uses a microcomputer to ensure accurate transmission of focusing, metering and lens data among the lens, extender and the camera. When used with the new-generation telephoto and super telephoto L lenses†, more precise autofocusing can be achieved. The extender features an improved lens mounting design, fluorine coating that repels water and oil effectively and a dust and water resistance construction▲ to make it more durable.
