PIXMA iP8770 feature Canon's high-performance Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology print heads. These nozzles put out precise microscopic ink droplets. FINE technology complemented by 1pl ink droplet and 9,600 x 2,400 dpi resolution guarantees the professional quality of photo prints with impressive details and vividness that ever shown on printed photo paper before.

To further enhance photo printing quality, PIXMA iP8770 adopts a 6-color individual ink system with the addition of grey ink tank to improve the grey tone in B&W photo printing, clearly present the shaded and glossy area and further improve the gradation and amend color distortion. This can also greatly enhance color reproduction for color photo printing.

PIXMA iP8770 feature built-in Wi-Fi connectivity that supports 802.11b/g/n standard for faster connection. Seamless printing function sharing among multiple computers over a high-speed wireless network can be easily achieved, ideal for sharing among the whole family. The setup of wireless network can be completed in just a few steps, making the setup easy even for first-time printer owners.

PIXMA iP8770 supports the new and free upgraded Canon Print Inkjet/SELPHY application with more comprehensive and powerful functionalities. With the installed application and via a Wi-Fi wireless network, direct printing of A3+ photos, PDF files and web pages^*2 from mobile devices can be done without the need of a computer, bringing even greater convenience for everyday printing!

PIXMA iP8770 support a new Wi-Fi Printing function for wireless connection with digital cameras¹ via PictBridge (Wireless Lan) technology, allowing easy and direct printing of images captured by camera anytime, anywhere without the need for cable connection, unlocking a new printing experience which is more instant and convenient!

PIXMA iP8770 features a "Auto Photo Fix II" function which equips with a scene categorization system that can automatically recognize the type of image and adopt the optimal correction based on the five shooting modes such as portrait, scenery, night scenery, snapshot (scenery) and snapshot (night scenery). This new function now offers intelligent Multi-zone Exposure Correction to get the best results from pictures that have been less than ideally exposed, by multi-zoning areas in an image which are under exposed and correct each zone independently. It then returns the original images to the most natural and ideal appearance.

PIXMA iP8770 integrated with Canon's unique "ChromaLife 100⁺ Photo System"^*. With the combination of FINE print heads, new dye-based ink cartridge and Canon's genuine photo papers, the color gamut has been greatly expanded and better reproduction of color is guaranteed, especially in the red areas (tonality including yellow, red and magenta). Richer and more vivid image colors can be produced on photo paper. Long-lasting photos which could be preserved up to 300 years are guaranteed.

PIXMA iP8770 is bundled with new software "My Image Garden" for easy management or backup of photos. Users can organize the photos stored on computers into three categories: Calendar, Event and People. With face recognition function, simply by registering the faces of your family members, the software can sort photos of a specific person automatically for easy searching, reviewing and printing of memorable photos. "My Image Garden" offers a vast selection of templates including collages, greeting cards, calendars, paper crafts and more to help you create unique and fun photo styles. What's more, the software also includes an automatic printing idea suggestion feature where photos stored on a computer are automatically created into various appealing collages for easy printing.

PIXMA iP8770 is equipped with an upgraded full HD Movie Print function. With the use of bundled software, users can capture high quality prints from HD movie clips taken by Canon digital compact cameras or DSLR cameras^*, and the printout mages will be optimized automatically. Three new features are included: "Merges frames" function helps combine multiple clips and produce a composite of movements; "Movie clips index" with thumbnail scenes allows easy preview and image search; "Auto Frame Capturing" selects sharper and clearer frames automatically, ensuring the best possible image quality.
